Auckland (2003)

20th Dec 2003 - 5th Feb 2004.

Auckland is Jason's family home, so we spent Christmas and the month of January in and around Auckland and the North Island of New Zealand.

Meet the large family gathering, lots of delicious food, beverages, and family cheer.

Claire is on Nan duty, we all took it in turns to make sure that Nan was entertained.

Paul (Claire's bro) joined us for Christmas.

Hazel and Phil after dinner with Fumi and Kaniyo who after staying as English language students appear to have been adopted by the lady on the left with the empty nest.

Compulsory Christmas hat duty.... Note the hat on the left has been modified to look like a real tiara.

Too much bubbly and Hazel and Phil took to bed (and the bathroom).

Jason wondered where his mum had gone to, she was discreetly trying to slip away so no-one noticed.  Some hours later she returned very pale and not quite so keen on drinking again for a while.

We had the fortune of catching up with Tim, Jason's old work friend from Cable & Wireless.  We spent an excellent day showing him and his friends around the sights of Aucklands West Coast Including Bethells beach.
