Santa Fe Island, Galapagos

29 September 2003.

We were both getting our sea legs armed with a few sea sickness tablets. By lunchtime on day two, we arrived at Santa Fe Island.

First stop was a bit of snorkelling.

We saw giant sea tortoises and a number of very large devil rays.... before Claire managed to loose her snorkel.

We landed on Sante Fe before the sun went down. Here we saw the most amazing friendly sea lions and land iguanas.

Claire went into extreme photo taking mode with the sea lions.

.... For the other 300 photos please email Claire!

The seals are pretty friendly.... but we couldn't touch!

The mother will abandon them if they smell of humans.

... sometimes they make a loud snotting noises so Claire wasn't so relaxed about being so close.

Jason spent lots of time with the Land Iguanas, so you will see a lot of photos of them.

Claire was surprised that they smelt so much and weren't very colourful.
